We’re a small crew, and that’s deliberate. Gate repair in San Antonio means dealing with limestone dust, summer heat that cooks circuit boards, and neighborhoods where every driveway has a different setup. Our techs have worked on gates from Stone Oak to Alamo Ranch to Terrell Hills, and each one of them carries the full Threshold Standard on every job: background-checked, identity-verified, photo-badged, and sent to you by name before they arrive. No anonymous trucks. No mystery techs.

Our People
Cole Rafferty, Owner
Cole has been fixing gates in Texas since 2008, when he started as a field tech and worked his way up through every repair category: slide gates, swing gates, barrier arms, and the temperamental control boards that run them. He founded Warden Gate Repair San Antonio as part of the Threshold Group family, and he still rides along on complex diagnostics a few days a month. Cole’s the one who insists on a written price before any work starts, a signed warranty on every repair, and a technician photo sent ahead of time. No surprises, ever. He’d rather lose a job than quote it wrong. Outside of work, he restores old cast-iron gate hardware in a garage that’s already too full of it.
Marcus D., Lead Technician
Marcus has twelve years in the gate and access control trade, and he’s factory-trained on LiftMaster, FAAC, BFT, Linear, Viking, Ghost Controls, DoorKing, Elite, and Mighty Mule. That matters because a Viking board failure looks nothing like a Mighty Mule sensor fault, and Marcus can tell the difference in the first ten minutes. He handles the heavy diagnostics: intermittent motor failures, photo-eye alignment issues, and safety edge faults that other companies misdiagnose as “just replace the whole thing.” He’s meticulous about torque settings and wire terminations. Marcus is also the resident expert on San Antonio’s older ornamental iron gates, the ones with custom hinge posts and 40-year-old pipe frames.
Elena R., Senior Installer
Elena specializes in gate motor replacements and full opener retrofits, which means she’s the one who tells you honestly whether a 15-year-old motor is worth repairing or whether a new unit saves money long term. She’s certified on FAAC and LiftMaster residential and light commercial openers, and she handles the mechanical side: chain drives, belt conversions, post reinforcement, and bracket fabrication. Elena’s the person who makes sure the gate doesn’t just work on day one, but keeps working through San Antonio’s clay soil shifting posts a half-inch every dry season. She grew up on a ranch near Hondo and has been around gates since she could reach the control box.
Dan W., Service Coordinator
Dan is the voice on the phone when you call Warden Gate Repair San Antonio, and he’s the one who keeps the schedule moving without making promises we can’t keep. He’s not a dispatcher reading from a script; he’s been trained on every gate system we service, so when you describe a symptom, Dan can usually give you a straight answer about whether it’s urgent, what it’ll likely cost, and when a tech can be there. He’s also the reason you get a technician name and photo texted before arrival, every time. Dan has a habit of remembering every customer’s gate setup from the last visit, which is either impressive or mildly alarming, depending on how you feel about that.
Tommy K., Apprentice Technician
Tommy’s our newest tech, two years into the trade and already trusted with electric gate opener diagnostics under Marcus’s supervision. He’s working through factory training modules and handles the basics: remote programming, battery replacements, limit switch adjustments, and cleaning the sensor lenses that heat and dust keep fouling. Tommy also runs the post-repair testing checklist on every job, running each gate through full open and close cycles until it’s smooth. He’s from the Medical Center area and rides a motorcycle, which means he’s got opinions about gate opener backup batteries that he’ll share if you ask.
One Standard, Every Job
The Threshold Standard isn’t a poster in the break room. It’s a checklist that every tech, from Cole down to Tommy, follows on every visit to every home in San Antonio. The tech’s name and photo go out before arrival. The tech wears a photo ID badge and shows it at the door. The written price comes before any work starts, not after. The repair carries the 365-Day Done Right Promise: if it fails within a year, we come back free. And when you call, a live person answers. No voicemail tree, no chatbot, no “we’ll text you a link.” That’s how each of us works, and that consistency is what allows us to back every repair with a written guarantee. One crew, one standard, all across the San Antonio market.
